JAY AHREND PHOTOGRAPHER
The Game has been a wonderful challenge where I am able to fulfill a commitment and more importantly I now find I am constantly shooting images for myself almost everyday, personal images beyond those for paying clients. I am loving my career all over again, what a great gift.
SUE BARR PHOTOGRAPHER
The Game has been an amazing opportunity to showcase my ability to respond to creative challenges. I love the 10 day commitment to post no matter what and my visuals are also the catalyst for my colleagues responses. Playing this game has solidified important life lessons in being a successful creator as it encompasses critical thinking, responsibility, creativity & collaboration.
ELIOT CROWLEY PHOTOGRAPHER
The Game has been a swift but gentle kick in the pants at least every 10 days to actually produce something. I have made many photographs that simply would not exist, if not for the Game. Because of the Game I have started a new personal project I expect to occupy a good portion of the next year to advance, but will never complete. I am personally grateful for the Game.
BLUE FIER PHOTOGRAPHER
Participating in the Daily Photo Game has allowed me to take a number of images I’ve thought about taking and just haven’t. I like the challenge of creating and reacting to someone else’s photo. The Game is like putting all your creative juices in a blender and every 10 days coming up with a new drink.
JEREMY GREEN PHOTOGRAPHER
Being one of the 10 photographers in the Daily Photo Game is an honor and a challenge. It has given me more drive to shoot personal work regularly, and it has given that work an outlet and a “raison d’être”.
DAVID B. MOORE PHOTOGRAPHER
No matter what mood I’m in, or how I feel, or what event has occurred… the game goes on. This discipline to produce and deliver is a great learning tool for me to switch gears and create something before getting on with what is already on the forefront of my attention. The process is a booster shot / blood transfusion every ten days containing creativity and self esteem vitiams.
ROBERT NEASE PHOTOGRAPHER
The Daily Photo Game has afforded me a framework to express my creative ideas and concepts – which I then interpret into images for the project. By participating in the Game process, I look forward in anticipation to the images being played and I throughly enjoy making images in reaction to the post before mine.
BOB STEVENS PHOTOGRAPHER
I’ve been shooting professionally for over 30 years and have never experienced a challenge quite like The Daily Photo Game. Taking direction from a client, yes, I know how to do that. Submitting images based on ‘following’ the notion of another image, not so much. There have been days when I was busy or just plain didn’t want to shoot when it was my ‘turn’. But that’s not how we roll at the Game. It has simply been the most fun I’ve ever had not getting paid.
MARTIN TRAILER PHOTOGRAPHER
Playing the Daily Photo Game has forced me to pick up the camera and make photographs for myself much more frequently than in the past. In doing so, I have rediscovered the reason I was drawn into photography. I really enjoy the exploration process of “finding” and “making” photographs. It is as much fun now as ever, something I guess we lose a bit when it becomes a job.
RUSS WIDSTRAND PHOTOGRAPHER
Now having spent a three years on the DPG project, I feel a newness in my volition to create. Much of this energy comes from a disconnection to purpose or goal, it is the doing that has given new life to my photographic voice. Ironically, it took a purpose, the Game, to get me started again, but from within that production came a kind of freedom of expression and dialogue with fellow artists that fuels me and calls me to do more.
